Répartis entre Loën au nord et Comblain-au-Pont au sud, Seraing à l'ouest et la périphérie de Verviers à l'est, en un maillage de 41 centraux téléphoniques numérotés de 1 à 41, notre ami Francis en a localisé 33, retrouvé intacts 28 dont 2 menacés, détruits 5, non localisés ou non construits 7. Ces centraux téléphoniques devaient assurer la continuité de circulation des informations via les chambres de coupure sur l'ensemble du territoire couvert entre les différents éléments de commandement, les observatoires cuirassés et les postes volants. Leur mission ne fut que partiellement réussie suite à l'avance rapide des forces allemandes. Ils n'étaient en principe ni armés ni occupés en permanence, bien que certains d'entre eux, à l'instar du CTF 9 de Beune à Beyne-Heusay, disposaient d'un créneau de tir pour une arme légère imitant une petite fenêtre et de deux goulottes lance-grenades.

Ihre Mission wurde aufgrund des schnellen Vormarsches der deutschen Streitkräfte nur teilweise erfolgreich erfüllt. Sie waren im Prinzip weder bewaffnet noch dauerhaft besetzt, obwohl einige von ihnen, wie die CTF 9 von Beune in Beyne-Heusay, über eine Schießscharte für eine leichte Waffe verfügten, die ein kleines Fenster imitierte, und über zwei Granatwerferschächte.

Tyto telefonní ústředny měly zajistit kontinuitu informačního toku prostřednictvím přepojovacích místností na celém pokrytém území mezi různými velitelskými prvky, pancéřovými pozorovatelnami a mobilními stanovišti. Jejich mise byla částečně úspěšná pouze v důsledku rychlého postupu německých sil. V zásadě nebyly ani vyzbrojeny, ani trvale obsazeny, ačkoli některé z nich, jako například CTF 9 v Beune v Beyne-Heusay, měly střílnu pro lehkou zbraň napodobující malé okno a dva granátometné žlaby.
