Position Fortifiée de Liège, nord de la ville. Projet jamais concrétisé à 7 300 m au nord-nord-est du fort de Pontisse entre la Meuse et l'ancien canal de Maastricht avant son remplacement par le canal Albert dont les travaux débutèrent en 1930. Brialmont voulait couvrir le gué de la Meuse aux portes de Maastricht et avait prédit que le pays "pleurerait des larmes de sang" de ne point l'avoir construit. L'histoire nous a appris qu'au 4 août 1914, la garnison (30 000 hommes) de Maastricht avait évacué sur ordre tout l'isthme de Roermond et que la traversée de cet isthme par les troupes du Kaiser n'aurait pas constitué un casus belli. Moralité, fort à Lixhe ou pas, Liège pouvait de toutes façons être aisément tournée par le nord.

Brialmont wollte die Maasfurt vor den Toren Maastrichts decken und hatte vorhergesagt, das Land würde "Tränen des Blutes weinen", es nicht gebaut zu haben. Die Geschichte hat uns gelehrt, dass am 4. August 1914 die Garnison (30 000 Mann) von Maastricht auf Befehl die gesamte Landenge von Roermond geräumt hatte und dass das Überschreiten dieser Landenge durch die Truppen des Kaisers keinen casus belli dargestellt hätte. Fazit: Fort in Lixhe oder nicht, Lüttich konnte ohnehin leicht von Norden umgangen werden.

De geschiedenis heeft ons geleerd dat op 4 augustus 1914 de garnizoen (30 000 man) van Maastricht op bevel de hele landengte van Roermond had geëvacueerd en dat de oversteek van deze landengte door de troepen van de Keizer geen casus belli zou hebben gevormd. Moraal: fort te Lixhe of niet, Luik kon toch gemakkelijk vanuit het noorden worden omtrokken.

Projekt nikdy nerealizovaný 7 300 m severoseverovýchodně od pevnosti Pontisse mezi Mázou a starým kanálem Maastricht před jeho nahrazením Albertovým kanálem, jehož práce začaly v roce 1930. Brialmont chtěl krýt brod Mázy u bran Maastrichtu a předpověděl, že země "bude plakat krvavé slzy", že jej nepostavila.
