La construction d’un fort à Allenjoie aurait contribué à fermer la trouée de Montbéliard tout en assurant la jonction avec la place de Belfort. Il y a fort à parier que l’emplacement pressenti fut le mamelon en arrière du cimetière et au sud de la D 209. À vol d’oiseau, ce mamelon se situe à égale distance, 5000 m, des forts de Lachaux et du Bois d’Oye Voir trouée de Montbéliard.

Der Bau eines Forts in Allenjoie hätte dazu beigetragen, den Montbéliard-Pass zu schließen und gleichzeitig die Verbindung zum Platz von Belfort sicherzustellen. Als Standort wurde mit Sicherheit der Hügel hinter dem Friedhof südlich der D 209 in Betracht gezogen. Dieser Hügel ist in Luftlinie gleich weit (5000 m) von den Forts Lachaux und Bois d’Oye entfernt (siehe Montbéliard-Pass).

Výstavba pevnosti v Allenjoie by pomohla uzavřít Montbéliardskou průseku a zároveň zajistit spojení s náměstím Belfort. Lze s jistotou sázet na to, že uvažovaným místem byl kopec za hřbitovem a jižně od silnice D 209. Vzdušnou čarou je tento kopec stejně vzdálený, 5000 m, od pevností Lachaux a Bois d’Oye v Montbéliardské průsece.
