Diego-Suarez. Réalisé en pierres sèches, le fort d’Anosiravo est un ouvrage trapézoïdal couronnant le sommet du massif, à l’altitude de 330 mètres. L’endroit a été choisi, compte tenu de la vue exceptionnelle qu’il procure sur 360°, et en particulier sur la ville et la baie, pour établir un poste optique permettant la liaison entre les différentes positions du front de terre. Un tunnel en forte pente, long d’une centaine de mètres, en permet l’accès, depuis une piste prenant son origine sur la route du littoral. À l’est du fort, sur le plateau, un casernement abritait la garnison. Il servit, pendant un temps, de camp disciplinaire pour le 13e RIC, ce qui lui valut la réputation, quelque peu usurpée, de bagne. Des épaves de canons, photographiées dans les années 1950, témoignent de l’utilisation de l’endroit comme position d’artillerie. The location was chosen, given the exceptional 360° view it offers, particularly over the town and the bay, to establish an optical post allowing liaison between the different positions of the land front. A steeply sloping tunnel, about a hundred metres long, provides access from a track originating on the coastal road. To the east of the fort, on the plateau, accommodation housed the garrison. It served, for a time, as a disciplinary camp for the 13th RIC, which earned it the somewhat undeserved reputation of a penal colony. Wrecks of cannons, photographed in the 1950s, testify to the use of the place as an artillery position. Postaveno ze suchých kamenů, pevnost Anosiravo je lichoběžníkové dílo korunující vrchol masivu v nadmořské výšce 330 metrů. Místo bylo vybráno s ohledem na výjimečný 360° výhled, který poskytuje, zejména na město a zátoku, k zřízení optického stanoviště umožňujícího spojení mezi různými postaveními pozemní fronty. Strmý tunel dlouhý asi sto metrů umožňuje přístup z cesty, která má svůj původ na pobřežní silnici. Východně od pevnosti na plošině se nacházela kasárna, která ukrývala posádku. Sloužila po nějakou dobu jako disciplinární tábor pro 13. pluk RIC, což jí vyneslo poněkud nezaslouženou pověst káznice.
