Trouée de Montbéliard, sud-est de la ville de Belfort, 1880. Projet resté dans les cartons. La construction d’un fort à Novillars aurait contribué à fermer la trouée de Montbéliard tout en assurant la jonction avec la place de Belfort et en reportant à l’Est la ligne de défense de cette dernière place. Nous n’avons pu déterminer l’emplacement pressenti pour la construction de ce fort. Le hameau de Novillars se situe un peu moins de 5000 m presque plein Est du fort de Vézelois. Dès 1881, ce projet semble avoir été abandonné car trop coûteux. Voir trouée de Montbéliard.

Lücke von Montbéliard, südöstlich der Stadt Belfort, 1880. Ein Projekt, das in den Schubladen blieb. Der Bau eines Forts in Novillars hätte dazu beigetragen, die Lücke von Montbéliard zu schließen, gleichzeitig die Verbindung mit der Festung Belfort zu sichern und die Verteidigungslinie dieser letzteren Festung weiter nach Osten zu verlegen. Wir konnten den für den Bau dieses Forts vorgesehenen Standort nicht ermitteln. Der Weiler Novillars liegt etwas weniger als 5000 m fast genau östlich des Forts von Vézelois. Bereits 1881 scheint dieses Projekt als zu kostspielig aufgegeben worden zu sein. Siehe Lücke von Montbéliard.

Opening van Montbéliard, zuidoost van de stad Belfort, 1880. Een project dat in de laden bleef liggen. De bouw van een fort te Novillars zou hebben bijgedragen tot het sluiten van de opening van Montbéliard, terwijl het de aansluiting met de vesting Belfort verzekerde en de verdedigingslinie van deze laatste vesting naar het Oosten verplaatste. Wij hebben de voor de bouw van dit fort voorziene locatie niet kunnen bepalen. Het gehucht Novillars bevindt zich iets minder dan 5000 m bijna pal ten oosten van het fort van Vézelois. Gap of Montbéliard, southeast of the town of Belfort, 1880. A project that remained on the drawing board. The construction of a fort at Novillars would have helped to close the Gap of Montbéliard while ensuring the junction with the fortress of Belfort and pushing eastward the defensive line of this latter place. We have not been able to determine the intended location for the construction of this fort. The hamlet of Novillars is located a little less than 5000 m almost due East of the fort of Vézelois. Průlom Montbéliard, jihovýchodně od města Belfort, 1880. Projekt zůstal v šuplíku. Stavba tvrze v Novillars by přispěla k uzavření průlomu Montbéliard a zároveň zajistila spojení s pevností Belfort a posunula obrannou linii této poslední pevnosti dále na východ. Nepodařilo se nám určit zamýšlené umístění pro stavbu této tvrze. Osada Novillars se nachází necelých 5000 m téměř přímo na východ od tvrze Vézelois.
