Place de Brest, sud-est de la ville. À l'embouchure de la rivière Aulne, dans la rade de Brest, se trouve le petit bourg de Landévennec où Vauban eut souhaité établir le port de guerre en lieu et place de Brest qui, à côté des possibilités offertes par le site ne paraissait "qu'une gueuserie". Un vaste projet comprenant de multiples batteries (Kergo, Bindy, Porzisquin, Moulin Mer, Goasquellou, Tibidy, Le Loc'h, Sillon des Anglais et Pen Form) fut conçu par Vauban mais jamais réalisé. À l'est de Landévennec, la petite île d'Arun, toutefois, en vit un commencement d'exécution avec la construction, en 1693, d'un magasin à poudre, à priori assez important. Nous ignorons si ce magasin a été utilisé comme tel durant la période intéressant cet index, mais il nous semblait intéressant de le mentionner, ainsi que le projet, pour information, surtout que les trois magasins à poudre de Brest, de type Vauban, ont été remis aux standards de 1874. L'île et le magasin sont aujourd'hui une propriété privée.

Festung Brest, südöstlich der Stadt. An der Mündung des Flusses Aulne, im Hafen von Brest, liegt die kleine Stadt Landévennec, wo Vauban anstelle von Brest einen Kriegshafen errichten wollte, was im Vergleich zu den Möglichkeiten des Standorts „nur ein armseliges Geschäft“ erschien. Vauban hatte ein riesiges Projekt mit mehreren Batterien (Kergo, Bindy, Porzisquin, Moulin Mer, Goasquellou, Tibidy, Le Loc'h, Sillon des Anglais und Pen Form) konzipiert, das jedoch nie verwirklicht wurde. Östlich von Landévennec, auf der kleinen Insel Arun, begann jedoch seine Ausführung mit dem Bau eines offenbar recht großen Pulvermagazins im Jahr 1693. Wir wissen nicht, ob dieses Magazin während des für diesen Index relevanten Zeitraums als solches verwendet wurde, aber wir dachten, es wäre interessant, es sowie das Projekt zu Informationszwecken zu erwähnen, insbesondere da die drei Pulvermagazine von Brest vom Typ Vauban auf den Standard von 1874 gebracht wurden. Die Insel und das Magazin sind heute Privateigentum.

Aan de monding van de Aulne, in de haven van Brest, ligt het stadje Landévennec, waar Vauban de oorlogshaven wilde vestigen in plaats van Brest, wat, vergeleken met de mogelijkheden die de locatie bood, "slechts een armzalige aangelegenheid" leek. Een omvangrijk project, met meerdere batterijen (Kergo, Bindy, Porzisquin, Moulin Mer, Goasquellou, Tibidy, Le Loc'h, Sillon des Anglais en Pen Form), werd door Vauban bedacht, maar nooit uitgevoerd. Ten oosten van Landévennec zag het kleine eiland Arun echter de uitvoering ervan met de bouw, in 1693, van een kruitmagazijn, dat blijkbaar vrij groot was. Wij weten niet of dit magazijn als zodanig werd gebruikt in de periode die voor deze index van belang is, maar wij vonden het interessant om het, en ook het project, ter informatie te vermelden, temeer daar de drie kruitmagazijnen van Brest, van het type Vauban, op het niveau van 1874 werden gebracht. Het eiland en het magazijn zijn tegenwoordig privébezit.

At the mouth of the Aulne River, in the harbor of Brest, is the small town of Landévennec where Vauban had wanted to establish the war port in place of Brest which, compared to the possibilities offered by the site, seemed "only a beggarly business". A vast project including multiple batteries (Kergo, Bindy, Porzisquin, Moulin Mer, Goasquellou, Tibidy, Le Loc'h, Sillon des Anglais and Pen Form) was conceived by Vauban but never realized. To the east of Landévennec, the small island of Arun, however, saw the beginning of its execution with the construction, in 1693, of a powder magazine, apparently quite large. We do not know if this magazine was used as such during the period of interest to this index, but we thought it was interesting to mention it, as well as the project, for information, especially since the three powder magazines of Brest, of the Vauban type, were brought up to the standards of 1874. The island and the magazine are today private property.

Pevnost Brest, jihovýchodně od města. U ústí řeky Aulne, v přístavu Brest, se nachází malé město Landévennec, kde chtěl Vauban zřídit válečný přístav na místě Brestu, který se ve srovnání s možnostmi, které lokalita nabízela, jevil jako „jen žebrácký podnik“. Vauban sice vymyslel rozsáhlý projekt zahrnující několik baterií (Kergo, Bindy, Porzisquin, Moulin Mer, Goasquellou, Tibidy, Le Loc'h, Sillon des Anglais a Pen Form), ale nikdy nebyl realizován. Východně od Landévennecu se však na malém ostrově Arun začala jeho realizace výstavbou prachárny v roce 1693, zřejmě poměrně velké. Nevíme, zda byl tento zásobník takto používán v období, které je předmětem zájmu tohoto rejstříku, ale považovali jsme za zajímavé se o něm i o projektu zmínit pro informaci, zejména proto, že tři brestské prachárny typu Vauban byly modernizovány na standardy z roku 1874. Ostrov i zásobník jsou dnes soukromým majetkem.
