Place de Bergues, nord de la place. Couronne de peu d'emprise séparée du corps de place par un fossé en eau et bordé sur son front de tête par le canal du Roy. Ses trois bastions recevront chacun une traverse-abri Mle 1879. Le bastion ouest abrite encore un magasin à poudre construit en 1886 et le bastion central, les quatre travées d'un casernement daté, lui, de 1884. Tous ces éléments sont encore en place aujourd'hui (09/2004) mais : le bastion ouest est occupé par un tennis ; le central par des services municipaux et un camping, tandis que celui à l'est, accessible par la porte aux Boules, abrite voirie et habitations.

Fetsung von Bergues, nördlich des Platzes. Ein kleiner Kranz, der durch einen wassergefüllten Graben vom Hauptteil des Platzes getrennt und an seiner Stirnseite vom Canal du Roy begrenzt wird. Seine drei Bastionen erhalten jeweils einen Schutzübergang Mle 1879. Die westliche Bastion beherbergt noch immer ein 1886 erbautes Pulvermagazin und die mittlere Bastion die vier Joche einer Kaserne aus dem Jahr 1884. Alle diese Elemente sind heute (09/2004) noch vorhanden, aber: Die westliche Bastion wird von einem Tennisplatz eingenommen; die mittlere von städtischen Diensten und einem Campingplatz, während die östliche, die über die Porte aux Boules erreichbar ist, Straßen und Häuser beherbergt.

Vesting van Bergues, ten noorden van het plein. Een kleine kroon, gescheiden van het hoofdgedeelte van het plein door een met water gevulde gracht en aan de kop begrensd door het Canal du Roy. De drie bastions krijgen elk een oversteekplaats (Mle 1879). Het westelijke bastion herbergt nog steeds een kruitmagazijn uit 1886 en het centrale bastion de vier traveeën van een kazerne uit 1884. Al deze elementen zijn vandaag de dag (09/2004) nog steeds aanwezig, maar: het westelijke bastion wordt ingenomen door een tennisbaan; het centrale bastion door gemeentelijke diensten en een camping, terwijl het oostelijke bastion, toegankelijk via de Porte aux Boules, wegen en woningen herbergt.

Fortress of Bergues, north of the square. A small crown separated from the main part of the square by a water-filled ditch and bordered on its head front by the Canal du Roy. Its three bastions will each receive a shelter-crossing Mle 1879. The western bastion still houses a powder magazine built in 1886 and the central bastion, the four bays of a barracks dating from 1884. All these elements are still in place today (09/2004) but: the western bastion is occupied by a tennis court; the central one by municipal services and a campsite, while the one to the east, accessible by the Porte aux Boules, houses roads and homes.

Pevnost Bergues, severně od náměstí. Malá koruna oddělená od hlavní části náměstí vodou naplněným příkopem a ohraničená na své přední straně kanálem Canal du Roy. Jeho tři bašty obdrží krytý přechod Mle 1879. Západní basta stále ukrývá střelnici postavenou v roce 1886 a centrální basta, čtyři pole kasáren z roku 1884. Všechny tyto prvky jsou na svém místě dodnes (09/2004), ale: západní bastu zabírá tenisový kurt; centrální bastu obsazují městské služby a kemp, zatímco ta na východě, přístupná přes Porte aux Boules, obsahuje silnice a domy.
