Cet ouvrage occupera un terrain dont les moyens d'accès sont faciles, où on a l'eau à proximité et où on installera sans difficulté des magasins à munitions ». Dieses Werk wird ein Gelände besetzen, dessen Zugangswege einfach sind, wo man Wasser in der Nähe hat und wo man ohne Schwierigkeiten Munitionsmagazine installieren wird ». Oud fort voorgesteld voor declassering in 1882, maar omdat men « geen belangrijk bewapening in de citadel wilde installeren, vanwege zijn situatie in het centrum van een wijk met zeer hoge huizen, besloot men de batterij die daar voorzien was over te brengen naar fort Lacroix. Dit werk zal een terrein bezetten waarvan de toegangsmiddelen gemakkelijk zijn, waar men water in de nabijheid heeft en waar men zonder moeite munitiemagazijnen zal installeren ». Starý fort navržený k deklasování v roce 1882, ale protože « nechtěli instalovat důležité vyzbrojení do citadely, kvůli její situaci v centru čtvrti velmi vysokých domů, rozhodli se přeložit baterii, která tam byla plánována, na fort Lacroix. Tento objekt zaujme pozemek, jehož přístupové prostředky jsou snadné, kde je voda v blízkosti a kde se bez obtíží nainstalují munické magazíny ».
