Place de Charleville-Mézières. Dans le cadre de la création d'une ceinture de forts détachés autour de Charleville-Mézières, il était envisagé de construire un fort, ou plutôt une fortification, autour du village de Saint-Marceau, à ± 220 m/alt. Ce village, cerné, à l'instar de Villey-le-Sec, par des éléments fortifiés, aurait couvert les approches sud de la place. Ce projet ne quittera jamais les cartons.

Im Rahmen der Schaffung eines Gürtels von detachierten Forts um Charleville-Mézières war geplant, ein Fort, oder vielmehr eine Befestigung, um das Dorf Saint-Marceau, auf ± 220 M/ü M., zu bauen. Dieses Dorf, eingekreist, ähnlich wie Villey-le-Sec, von befestigten Elementen, hätte die südlichen Zugänge zur Festung gedeckt. Dieses Projekt sollte die Planungsstufe niemals verlassen.

In het kader van de aanleg van een gordel van losse forten rond Charleville-Mézières, werd overwogen een fort, of liever een versterking, rond het dorp Saint-Marceau, op ± 220 m/hoogte, te bouwen. Dit dorp, omsingeld, net als Villey-le-Sec, door versterkte elementen, zou de zuidelijke toegangswegen tot de vesting hebben gedekt. Dit project zou nooit van de tekentafel komen.
