Fortifications belges de la deuxième guerre mondiale, position fortifiée de Liège, première ligne de résistance, fort de Tancrémont, BIII. Le bloc d'infanterie pour 3 mitrailleuses doubles sur affûts réversibles BIII est complètement atypique et totalement unique dans les fortifications belges et sans doute ailleurs. Sa raison d'être est encore mystérieuse mais sa configuration intérieure semblait connue par l'ennemi qui avait imaginé pouvoir neutraliser l'ouvrage en perforant la toiture de ce bloc. Le plan ne fut cependant jamais exécuté. Au centre du bloc se trouve effectivement un puits hexagonal très large le long de la paroi duquel grimpe un escalier en colimaçon. Le bloc dispose de trois cloches pour mitrailleuses. Deux des cloches sont dirigées vers les glacis, la troisième couvre la surface du massif central en direction de la cloche GFM (guetteur et fusil-mitrailleur) du bloc mortier M.

Der Infanterieblock für 3 Doppel-Maschinengewehre auf schwenkbaren Lafetten BIII ist völlig atypisch und einzigartig in den belgischen Befestigungen und wohl auch andernorts. Seine Daseinsberechtigung ist noch rätselhaft, aber seine Innenkonfiguration schien dem Feind bekannt, der sich vorstellte, das Werk durch Durchschlagen des Daches dieses Blocks neutralisieren zu können. Der Plan wurde jedoch nie ausgeführt. Im Zentrum des Blocks befindet sich tatsächlich ein sehr weiter hexagonaler Schacht, an dessen Wand eine Wendeltreppe emporsteigt. Der Block verfügt über drei Maschinengewehrglocken (ZK). Zwei der Glocken sind gegen die Glacis gerichtet, die dritte deckt die Fläche des Zentralmassivs in Richtung der GFM-Glocke (Beobachter und leichtes Maschinengewehr) des Blocks Mörser M.

De infanterieblok voor 3 dubbele machinegeweren op draaibare affuiten BIII is volledig atypisch en uniek in de Belgische versterkingen en ongetwijfeld elders. Zijn bestaansreden is nog mysterieus maar zijn binnenconfiguratie leek gekend door de vijand die zich had voorgesteld het werk te kunnen neutraliseren door het dak van deze blok te doorboren. Het plan werd echter nooit uitgevoerd. In het centrum van de blok bevindt zich inderdaad een zeer brede hexagonale schacht langs waarvan een wenteltrap klimt. De blok beschikt over drie machinegeweerkoepels (ZK). Twee van de koepels zijn gericht naar de glacis, de derde dekt de oppervlakte van het centrale massief in de richting van de GFM-koepel (waarnemer en licht machinegeweer) van de blok mortier M.

Its reason for being is still mysterious, but its interior configuration seemed known to the enemy, who had imagined being able to neutralize the work by piercing the roof of this block. The plan was, however, never executed. At the centre of the block there is indeed a very wide hexagonal shaft along the wall of which a spiral staircase climbs. The block has three machine gun cupolas (ZK). Two of the cupolas are directed towards the glacis, the third covers the surface of the central massif in the direction of the GFM cloche (sentinel and light machine gun) of the mortar M block.
Belgické opevnění druhé světové války, opevněná pozice Lutych, první obranná linie, fort Tancrémont, BIII. Pěchotní blok pro 3 dvojité kulomety na otočných lafetách BIII je zcela atypický a naprosto jedinečný v belgickém opevnění a nepochybně i jinde. Jeho smysl existence je stále záhadou, ale jeho vnitřní konfigurace se zdála být známá nepříteli, který si představoval, že by mohl objekt zneškodnit proražením střechy tohoto bloku. Plán však nikdy nebyl proveden. V centru bloku se skutečně nachází velmi široký hexagonální šacht, podél jehož stěny stoupá točité schodiště. Blok disponuje třemi kulometnými zvonnicemi (ZK). Dva zvony jsou namířeny na glacis, třetí kryje plochu centrálního masivu ve směru ke zvonici GFM (pozorovatel a lehký kulomet) bloku minomet M.
