Projet avorté de construction d’un fort protégeant à la fois la route et la voie ferrée venant de Tournai et le confluent de l’Escaut et de la Scarpe, avec son dispositif d’inondations. Ce projet fut délaissé au profit de l’établissement des forts de Maulde, peu à l’ouest et de Flines, peu à l’est.

Abgebrochenes Projekt zum Bau einer Festung zum Schutz der Straße und der Eisenbahnlinie aus Tournai sowie des Zusammenflusses von Escaut und Scarpe mit einem Hochwasserschutzsystem. Dieses Projekt wurde zugunsten der Errichtung der Festungen Maulde, etwas westlich, und Flines, etwas östlich, aufgegeben.
